This website was created as a quick and easy reference for anyone looking for the Ten Commandments. If you do not respect the Ten Commandments then please read on... Yes, some of these edicts may seem too doctrinal to the secular or atheist
individual. But, I think, the important thing is to embrace the spirit
of these precepts. It's about simple common decency, humanity and universal
morality. It's about the simple difference between right and wrong. I
think the Ten Commandments can be summed up in one phrase: We as human
beings should always strive to be better than what we are. We are
jealous, murderous, covetous, petty--we all know the list. But as human
beings we have not only the divine capacity but also the divine obligation
to do better. Considering the amount of senseless violence that
still exists in the world, I think we should all stop, take a deep breath,
and take moment to ponder these words. |
